A beautiful antique French terre de fer ravier, sourced at a flea market in Avignon, France. Featuring an elegant mulberry-toned transferware pattern, the dish is decorated with ornate scrolling florals surrounding a delicate botanical motif at its center.
Dating to approximately the late 19th or early 20th century, these elongated serving dishes were traditionally used at the French table for hors d'oeuvres and small accompaniments. Today, it is a lovely piece for serving olives, nuts or small bites, or simply displayed among a collection of antique French tableware.
Each ravier bears an antique French terre de fer backstamp and has its own subtle variations in color, transfer and signs of age, giving every piece a character all its own.
