Mentally, we’ve moved on to fall. We’re ready for sweaters, simmering pots on the stove, and all the cozy things that come with a change in season.
The weather, apparently, has other plans.
With another hot weekend ahead, we’re leaning into it with something cold, refreshing, and just a little unexpected: a Blueberry Rosemary Gin & Tonic.
Inspired by a cocktail we had in France, our version combines fresh blueberries, gin, rosemary, and crisp tonic with a splash of St-Germain. The elderflower liqueur adds a subtle floral sweetness that works beautifully with the berries and rosemary—and makes this simple gin and tonic feel a little more special.
It may look like fall on the calendar, but for now, we're pouring this over plenty of ice and enjoying one more warm weekend.
Blueberry Rosemary Gin & Tonic
Makes 1 cocktail
2 oz gin
6–8 fresh blueberries
¼ oz fresh lemon juice
½ oz simple syrup
¼ oz St-Germain elderflower liqueur
3–4 oz tonic water
1 sprig fresh rosemary
Extra blueberries for garnish
Ice
Gently muddle the blueberries with the lemon juice and simple syrup in the bottom of a large wine glass.
Fill the glass generously with ice. Add the gin and St-Germain and give everything a gentle stir. Top with tonic water.
Lightly slap the rosemary sprig between your palms to release its oils, then add it to the glass along with a few fresh blueberries.
Taste and add a touch more simple syrup if your blueberries are particularly tart.
Fall can wait one more weekend.
